That stuff? That is boot-sucking mud. A toddler stomps into that and they are instantly mired to the spot. Should they struggle to move, their feet will remain immobile as their torso plunges into the muck. Either that, or their boots will remain immobile while their feet pull free -- and plunge, sock-first, into the muck.
We decided to give the play structures a miss...
But that's okay! Because there are lots and lots of interesting things to do in a park!HillsMountains to climb!

Rivers to ford! (Bridges are very useful for fording rivers.)
